A decade of excellence: SubseaDesign completes final deliveries for Johan Sverdrup phase 3

For the past 10 years, SubseaDesign has been a trusted supplier of misalignment diver flanges and related equipment to the Johan Sverdrup project—supporting Phase 1, continuing through Phase 2, and now proudly completing the delivery to Phase 3.

Since 2016, SubseaDesign has delivered close to 300 SeAlign male and female flanges to the project – as well as blind flanges, low pressure flanges, seals, and bolt sets.
The scope has included SeAlign flange sizes 8”, 10”, 12”, 14″ and 18″, for use in various applications such as spools, pipelines, manifolds and PLR’s.

The client has recognized the value of SeAlign misalignment capabilities and their contribution to overall operations and cost efficiency. As the diver flanges are made up without tie-in bending moments, the benefits of SeAlign can be applied in several ways:

  • enabling shorter and smaller spools, reducing both fabrication and installation costs
  • maintaining spool lengths while reducing operational loads on inboard structures, typically a PLET or manifold, thereby simplifying their design
  • allowing for more relaxed fabrication tolerances, resulting in reduced manufacturing costs
The feedback from divers is that SeAlign flanges are easy and efficient to operate. As we celebrate a decade of collaboration on this massive project, we encourage other potential users to contact SubseaDesign and explore the benefits of SeAlign diver flanges!
